This modified version of a well-known Chinese tale tells the story of a girl called Leen who loved flowers. Anything she planted burst into bloom. The Emperor loved flowers too. When it was time to choose an heir, he gave a flower seed to each child in the kingdom. \u201cWhoever can show me their best in a year\u2019s time,\u201d he proclaimed, \u201cshall succeed me on the throne!\u201d Leen plants her seed and tends it every day. But month after month passes, and nothing grows. When spring comes, Leen must go to the Emperor with nothing but an empty pot. This beautiful tale provides an important lesson about patience, honesty and inner strength.<\/p>\n
